Interrupting Idol Programming To Laugh At The Misfortune Of Others

Most readers will already be aware that one of S2BC's favourite things is spontaneous, unexpected reminders of gravity: the simple delight to be had in watching people fall over. Here is but one example.

One of my other favourite things is journalistic faux pas, those delicious moments where reporters or newsreaders make hysterical, unforeseen missteps. I still remember Sandra Sully reporting the execution of Oklahoma bomber Timothy McVeigh by announcing that he had been "put down", and also when fellow Channel 10 newsreader Marie-Louise Thiele unwittingly called her husband an arsehole on-air.

Put those together and you have a recipe for uproarious hilarity.

Please now enjoy the following two examples this week of public face-plants combined with involuntary gigglefests from the journalists reporting them.

As an entrée, a portly Latin American singer who inexplicably dives off-stage:

And as main course, the prolonged consecutive falls of an otherwise elegant catwalk model in Paris:

Sometimes it's glorious to be alive, isn't it?

What a fabulous distraction from my post Sarah-rejection woes. Those two women newsreaders were HARSH BITCHES, but still... funny as fuck.

A shame to see that on the first post you linked to, the last two videos were unavailable.

Sadly, those links appear to have been removed from YouTube - the nerve!

I can't tell you how many times I've watched that model fall down. It goes on for about 10 metres! She also seems to be brandishing her left arm around a little recklessly after falling over once, surely contributing to the second fall. And then there's the matter of the incongruous watering can: what is its purpose? These really are the important questions, my friends.

Man, I could not stop laughing at that model falling down, seriously, I had tears in my eyes! Although, I was a bit worried that one of the old news readers was going to have an asthma attack!
